La mosaïque, un art roman pour créer tableaux et dessins à l’aide de pièces colorées (marbre, terre cuite, pierre), la mosaïque est bien vivante à La Croisille.
En mars, durant deux samedis après-midi, un groupe de femmes passionnées, jeunes et moins jeunes se sont réunies dans le local de Récré-ART-tion pour décorer des objets usuels grâce à cette technique. Elles les ont alors agrémentés de perles, de petits morceaux de carreaux colorés amoureusement découpés et assemblés par les participantes. Sous la direction d’Eliane et Nathalie, des dessous-plats de formes différentes, des miroirs, des pots de fleur prirent forme. Chacune de nous repartit avec ce que nous avions réalisé de nos propres mains. Sans compter que nous avions passé deux après-midi en bonne compagnie française, hollandaise et anglaise, toutes ensemble.

Mosaic, the ancient Roman art of creating pictures and designs with coloured stones, is alive and well in La Croisille sur Briance.
For two Saturday afternoons in March, a group of enthusiastic women, young and not so young, gathered in the room used by Récré-ART-tion to decorate some useful household items, using the ancient method of mosaic. All of these were therefore adorned with small pieces of coloured tile and beads lovingly cut and stuck by the participants. Under the guidance of Eliane and Nathalie beautifully decorated pot stands, in various shapes, mirrors and flowerpots emerged. Each of us who took part went home with something we had decorated with our own hands. Added to that we had spent two afternoons enjoying each others company, French, Dutch and English, alike.
